This Rare c. 1860 James Keiller & Sons Dundee Marmalade pot is a rare indeed. Note the label does not have any awards listed which indicates it was produced before 1863. I also purchased this pot at my favorite London Antique Market, it’s in great condition with no chips or cracks…lots of crazing and coloring adding to is beautiful patina.

I started eating it with breakfast muffins when I worked in Scotland in the 1990's. Unlike most other marmalades that seem to be super-sweet, Keiller Orange Marmalade is made with Seville Oranges, which are noted for their slightly bitter flavor.
